Entrepreneurship-led Economic Development 101
This course focuses on building an understanding of new intellectual property (IP) business creation. After taking this course, participants will have a strong understanding of the role of intellectual property and the creation/exploitation of this to support new venture development. Participants will also have a stronger sense of the entrepreneurial ecosystem, understand their role and the role of others, and come away with skills to support entrepreneur ecosystem development.

Entrepreneurship-led Economic Development is a core 101 course which must be completed if you wish to achieve the 101 AcED.
Course Highlights
· Gain a greater understanding of your local entrepreneurial ecosystem.
· Develop new knowledge in entrepreneurship-led economic development
· Overview of the types and stages of businesses and ecosystem support programmes
· Understanding local industries and cluster development practises
· Understanding technology transfer and its role in IP development
· Building a stronger view of research intensity and new knowledge creation within local and national environments
· Assessing your community’s entrepreneurship composition and approaches to building an inclusive ecosystem
· Overview of new venture development programmes (e.g., Incubators / Accelerators / Venture Studios)
· Evaluate when companies need funding, the types of funding, and where to find it.
